“Ambush” Sellers
Don’t subscribe to that seller’s email list until you’ve read this!
Have you ever purchased a product or service online, then been urged (or required) to subscribe to the vendor’s email list in order to receive notices of product updates, important product-related news, etc?
And have you ever found that you’re soon receiving regular weekly or daily pitches for the vendor’s other products or, worse still, affiliate pitches for other vendors’ products, none of which has any relevance to the original product you purchased?
If you purchase from places like the Warrior Special Offers forum, this kind of “ambush” selling (it sure isn’t legitimate marketing) seems to be standard practice. It soon becomes a self-perpetuating, vicious spiral where every vendor feels compelled to do what everyone else is doing and teaching in order to maximize their short-term profits.
To make life easier for you if you prefer dealing with vendors with integrity, here’s a list of sellers who’ve suckered us into subscribing to receive important product updates, news, etc for products we’ve purchased from them, only to find we’re on yet another “ambush” seller’s pitch list, and on the receiving end of an endless tide of affiliate promotions from all of the other “ambush” sellers we’ve subscribed to.
This list is by no means complete, but it’s a start. It lists only people who have done this to us. Its purpose is to help you make a better-informed decision about whether or not to subscribe to their product update or product news and information lists supposedly related to a specific product or service you’ve purchased from them.
(Is your name on this list? Here’s how to get off it.)
Online sellers who practice this kind of “ambush” selling
(Note: This list is still being compiled. To be fair, we’ve sent request messages to them all so that they’re aware of what’s coming. You can see a copy of our request message here.)
